I read [Bad Dreams in the Night] by [Adam Ellis]. It's a set of short horror stories. Not really scary, but very creepy. I quite like it and the art is really good. It's cartoony but the horror aspect comes through. My favourite stories were Forest Fruit, Bus Stop, Better Kate than Never, Little House in the Sea and Viola Bloom. It might have actually been shorted to name the stories I didn't consider my favourite.
Number one is probably Better Kate than Never as there is something so nostalgic and yet so disconcerting about the entire thing. This is one story that I would want to see continued and fleshed out. I think there's a movie in here somewhere.
Viola Bloom was another good one especially since Ellis draws on his experience with internet trolls and the harassment he's received. People have followed him and taken pictures of him to post to twitter.
I also really enjoyed the little snippets of background we get for each story and I wish they were longer. It's just a couple sentences but Ellis describes where the idea came from. I would have loved to see more into his thought process.
