I went with my cousins to see Ed Sheeran perform on June 17th, 2023. He is currently on his Mathematics tour which is all stadiums. It was an amazing show and he definitely puts in the work to make it enjoyable. He played the best songs from each of his albums and he did most of it on his own. He used a loop station to make the beats and repeat things and you can feel it. He would take a moment at the beginning of each song to get the core stuff done and it was great.

Throughout the show he would talk to the crowd and give a little bit of insight into his songs. He also mentioned that music is both his career and his hobby. When he's not on stage, he's in the studio and when he's not in the studio he is on stage. I would have liked to hear more about him but other venues might get other things. He also focused on telling things about Toronto specifically which was nice. The biggest takeaway was that he wrote the A Team while in Toronto which is cool because it is one my favourite songs by him.

I think the Divide concert would have been the best as it had the most amount of songs I loved and hearing him sing them all would have been crazy.

He also brought Shawn Mendes out for Lego House and the crowd went wild. Shawn Mendes also has charisma, you could easily see it on the stage and it was great set up.

Ed Sheeran sang most of my favourite songs, Castle on the Hill, The A Team, Galway Girl, You Need me, I Don't Need You. He also sang all the songs all the way through which I'm told is unusual. It was so great. The fireworks and flame stuff was cool but not as big as I had expected. The lights and screens were very neat though I'd have prefered to see Ed Sheeran in regular color rather than the effects they were using.

Khalid was the opener but unfortunately we missed most of his performance. Eastside and Location were great and he too was charming on stage.

This was my first concert and I really enjoyed it. The atmosphere was great and our seats were great. We could see everything on stage and the tickets were relatively cheap at 200$. I was expecting to be much further away. They also opened the dome up so it was a great summer concert. The weather was perfect. My only regret is not going for the floor tickets because the floor looked amazing and we were so close. We were also on our feet the entire time anyway so the floor would have been fine.

The most ridiculous thing was that we had parked near by. Huge mistake, we spent 2 hours getting out of the parking lot and 30 minutes driving home. This was how long the concert itself was.

One thought that came to me was that we are still doing the same thing we did thousands of years ago. I went to the coliseum last year and now this year it was bascically the same thing. A cool thought and something I share with the people from two thousands years ago and likely will share with people two thousands years into the future.
