This printer works just as well as the Brother DCP-L2550DW with CentOS 7.4.
The only difference is that I needed to use brscan5 instead of brscan4.
I installed the rpm and this gave me the brsaneconfig5 command which works the same was as the previous version.
brsaneconfig5 -a name=Brother_ADS-4700W model=ADS-4700W ip=192.168.7.20
This should make the scanner visible to the scanimage command.
scanimage -L
This scanner should be much faster in both color and grayscale than the DCP-L2550.
2023-07-01 - Now that it is being used in production, this scanner is perfect, it is very fast and the quality of the scans are pretty good. It also works very much like the DCP-L2550DW and works with linux without issue.
