I think Sonny Boy might be one of my favourite animes of all time. I watched it for the second time now and I enjoyed it greatly. The second watch helped catch things and I also realized how beautiful the anime is to watch.
I think it would be worthwhile to watch it in the dub but I couldn't get used to it so I haven't watched it that way yet.
I like Nagara as a protagnist, he is too passive but he gets better as time goes on. I love Mizuho, she starts off standoffish but she slowly becomes more open to the people around her.
Nozumi is great all the way through and watching her come to grips with the fact that she is dead in reality is wonderful. She is so cheery and upbeat that watching her deal with her death was hard but good.
Asakaze is trash and stays trash. I love how he is a riff on all the overpowered shounen isekai characters. He thinks he's great and he has the greatest power but he still can't get the girl or do the things that he really wants.
Radjatani starts great and ends as a forest. Enough said. He trully is the Indian representation we deserve.
Hoshi is great and I really wish we got to see more of him. I read the theory that he is actually the person who invents death and that is terrifying. He created a utopia and ultimately caused suffering.
Cap and Pony would also be fun to catch up with at the end but after episode 6 we lose touch with most of the classmates. I love episode 6. It really feels like a climactic ending. The rest of the show is weird and wild. Episode 11 ends the series and episode 12 is very much the epilogue.
Yamabiko's episode is so cool even though I don't get it. Watching him interact with Kodoma in an alternate world was nice.
Surprisingly the biggest change for me was that I hated the Monkey Blue monologue from cap and I think I must have been an idiot. That was a wonderful story and the way he tells it is great. It is probably one of my favourite episodes now because of that story.
I'll probably watch this again.
